PAWS Chicagomisc
I’ve been a volunteer graphic designer at PAWS Chicago on and off for the past year. They have a relatively small design team, so there were always projects they needed help with. Their brand is very photo centric, so I spent numerous hours scouring through their vast photo library trying to find the perfect image to match a given project. More often than not, I had to manipulate photos a significant amount to meet every requirement. Occasionally there was an instance where illustration was appropriate, particularly in designing Tribute Cards. Most of my work there was printed material, such as handouts, flyers, rack cards, greeting cards, and event signage, but occasionally I was tasked with creating material destined for the web as well.
